Clermont County Infirmary Condensed History

This three-page document recounts the history of the Clermont County Infirmary. It tells of the institution's beginnings on a farm in 1854 and the construction of a more suitable building in 1857. That building was destroyed by fire in 1877, which necessitated the building of the new infirmary. This brief history was one of several items placed in the cornerstone's time capsule. It measures 7.78 x 13.93 inches (19.76 x 35.38 cm).

The new infirmary was completed in 1885. It was four stories high with one hundred rooms and a central courtyard. The Clermont County Infirmary operated until 1965. It was later used for county offices and was razed in 2002.
